Ok, here it is - the basic plan for Cruise the Gold Coast

Saturday, Oct 3rd, 2009

We will start in Santa Nella at Pea Soup Andersons and cruise to the San Joaquin National Cemetery as it opens at 8 AM. If you want to stay at the Best Western there, rather than drive in that morning here's the info.

After we pay our respects and visit the Korean War Memorial, we will zip on down I-5 to Coalinga, our first pit stop. We will also stop a little later at Blackwell's Corner at Hwy 46 and Hwy 33, and the head down to Taft for a visit to the West Kern Oil Museum and lunch.

After lunch we will continue south on Hwy 33 through Maricopa and the Los Padres National Forest to the beautiful town of Ojai.

We have a short drive after that down to Ventura where we will spend the night and have a fun dinner in town.

Sunday, Oct 4th, 2009

After breakfast we'll head up the coast to Santa Barbara and a short stop at the mission and a pit stop at a nice little park, before we head over the San Marcos pass and cruise by beautiful Lake Cachuma and into Solvang for lunch and some shopping.

We cruise out of Solvang and over to Vandenberg AFB take a nice side trip to a town that time forgot, up the coast through San Luis Obispo and Sunday night we'll stay in Morro Bay.

Monday, Oct 5th, 2009

We hope to get an early start and make it to Cambria for breakfast. After some walking around time, we'll head up Hwy 1 and make several short stops along the way: Ragged Point, Gorda, Big Sur and then Carmel.

How's that sound? Like fun?

Let's do it!

Registration will open soon!
