It took me an extra day to get back into the swing of things; but here's a brief report and some links to some pictures.

We had nine beautiful PT's - a very manageable group of virtually expert class road warriors that made the cruise a delight. Four of us from MBPTC (Shirley & Cherie , Kathee, Tony & Linda and yours truly); three from Valley PTC (Jerry & Nancy, Ed & Marylou, and Steve & Judy), Jill & Tom from Silicon Valley PTC, and Dennis & Cassie from Stockton.

The cruising itself was pretty uneventful - except for the unfortunate incident with the Highway Patrol. We learned that ah-ooga horns are illegal, according to Officer Friendly (Not!). I think we need a ruling, personally.

But otherwise the weather was awesome all three days, and the drive and the scenery were extraordinary! We stayed on the move and I personally covered 800.6 miles door-to-door. Whew!

The Lost Coast was a bit tricky to get to, but everything I'd imagined; and the climb out (up the "Wall") afforded us some exceptional views out over the Pacific Ocean. The expanse was so great that from the road up the hill you could see the curvature of the Earth - I kid you not!

Yeah, we had some tough times over and back over the mountains; but we found some great spots to have our picnic lunches and when all was said and done, we were glad we did it.

The trip back was long haul, but I think the drive thru the Avenue of the Giants made it worthwhile. We caught the morning light thru the treess all along the Eel River and it was really spectacular.

So, I guess we did OK, because by Sunday the Valley folk were asking where we are going next year!
