Hy, that would be the perfect title for this year's cd, would you do us the honor again this year?
Well, we didn't plan to do it today but Carol and I ended up planning and mapping out the whole Ghost Cruise today and we think you will be pleasantly surprised. With the help of our newfound friend, Christine Dreifuss, owner of the fabulous "Cutting Horse" Restaurant in San Juan we have a great venue planned.

Carol and I, on a whim, cruised over to the lovely town of San Juan Bautista to get information and boy were we lucky. We scouted out the historic buildings and then went to speak with the owner of the "Cutting Horse" just to see if we could get an idea of what to plan and she pulled out all the stops being the most gracious host we have encountered so far. This wonderful lady even went so far as to let us plan and sample what the menu we will be having was for free! She is also on the Chamber of Commerce there and will be helping us with other things like merchant shopping coupons for the goody bags as well as VIP parking on the street for all the cruisers! I cannot begin to tell you how great she was to us. She also told us that they had just tried to contact us for an event the town wanted to have in October. (Hmm, strange coincidence?)

Anyway, the actual restaurant is infact haunted by a female ghost and was featured on a Discovery Channel special along with one of our other haunts, the Brookdale Lodge.

I cannot begin to tell about the mouth watering fares we were able to sample, cooked up by her award winning chef. The menu, which will be posted later has a wonderful old west flair to it as well as some other choice options.

We will be arranging to have a docent style tour of the mission and historic buildings and, of course a visit to the "Boot Hill" cemetery. Christine is also looking into having some of the locals drop in to share some of the local legends and tales. If you love history and ghosts, you won't want to miss this year's Ghost Cruise!

As soon as I receive the final info from Christine, I will post the menu, tour fee and other details so we can get a head count for goody bags and parking.

Carol and I are going over our list of guests for the Ghost Cruise this year and have 23 confirmed people so far. Could anyone that's planning on going and hasn't written in yet or told us please post so we can get an idea for goody bags, reservations and tour count? Thanks you guys!

We just got word today that a reporter from somewhere around the Pinnacles has asked to join us when we have dinner/investigate the Cutting Horse restaurant. He is doing a story for Halloween on the Cutting Horse.

Carol and I have ordered a special piece of ghost hunting equipment and the Ghost Cruise will be the first investigation we will be using it at. It's called a K-2 meter. If you have watched "Ghost Hunters" or "Paranormal State" you may have seen it used. It is calibrated to the frequency that ghosts are thought to come in on. It has a row of flashing lights and it is believed that a ghost can pass by it and light the lights up. If you are dealing with an intelligent haunting it is believed that you can communicate with the spirit and they will be able to answer yes or no questions. Sort of like an electronic oujia board.

If we are lucky we will be able to pick up on any spirits at the Cutting Horse, including the possibility of "Deanna" the old west madame who fell to death on the staircase inside on her wedding night.

This may be the most exciting Ghost Cruise yet!
